about

I had some free time one day, and hadn't turned out a track in a while. So I fired up my Axiom 49 and opened up Ableton Live (my old lame version of it anyway :D). But I couldn't come up with a thing. I was completely uninspired. I had been thinking a lot about musical theory, and why I make music personally. Is it just for fun? What about the days everything I write sounds like trash! Why should I press through? What's the point? On this particular day I just started telling God, “This stinks so much! What do you want me to do?” I don't always get a clear answer when I pray, but that day I really felt like he answered me, “Just worship me.” So, I did. I dropped every expectation of how I thought it would sound, and how other people would think of the album. I just decided to worship Him with my time. It's so much more fun then:) It turned out I ended up with two tracks that day “Simulated Forrest” and “Hot Summer Concrete.” I realized I can glorify God in anything and everything. So that's what my music is about, praising God no matter how it sounds or how I feel although it is usually a whole lot of fun!!!!!
The name "Days of Sunshine" refers to eternal life in heaven. The project started back around 2008 when I tapped a cheep little mic to my old keyboard's speakers, and started jamming. After about 2 years, I decided to start getting a little more serious about recording. I began using some cheep sound software and started working on my first real sounding album "Goodbye Average." Today, I've finished my second midi made album "Oceanside Palace." It doesn't always sound the greatest, and I feel like it has a long ways to go, but I have a blast doing it and I'd love to know if you enjoy it as well. :)
I've record over 250 songs in the last 4 years. In the past, I've done about 30-40, and picked the best 15 or so for the album. I might start putting the others in a side project, btw. I've finished songs in 15 minutes before, but the really good ones take longer of course:)
